Manor GP back in F1

4 March 2015

Manor has confirmed that it will return to competition and race in next weekend's season-opening Australian Grand Prix, ensuring that Formula 1 will have a 20 car grid for the upcoming campaign.

Manor said that it has prepared an interim car to meet the 2015 technical regulations and will introduce its new challenger at a later date.

The squad confirmed that energy boss Stephen Fitzpatrick is the new investor, with former Sainsbury's CEO Justin King installed as an interim Team Chairman. Graeme Lowdon will act as Manor's President and Sporting Director, with John Booth remaining as Team Principal

The team added that a team-mate for the already signed Will Stevens will be announced soon.

"I want to thank all of the teams, the FIA, Formula One Management, our suppliers and staff and of course all of the fans for the support we've received over the past six months," said Lowdon.

"It has been a challenging period for all of us but we've come through it and now we just want to go racing again.

"With formidable new business leadership in Stephen Fitzpatrick and the board presence of Justin King we are now in a great place ahead of the new season. This is a fantastic and very rewarding moment for all those involved with the team."
