Mercedes benefits from Ferrari misfortunes

The big question is, can Ferrari still turn it around before the last race in Abu Dhabi this year?

Some say that it's done and Hamilton will storm to his fourth drivers championship this year, but does Vettel think he still has a chance? He surely thinks that he does, with four races remaining in the season.

So far it's been a drastic six weeks for Ferrari, which started at the Singapore GP, when BOTH Ferrari's decided to make a Red Bull sandwich with Verstappen's car. And the rest is history.

Maurizio Arrivabene: Ferrari Team Principle, is clearly not a happy man

Raikkonen suffered technical problems on the Grid, and Vettel had to start from the back of the grid, but he was able to change his race strategy and finish in fourth.
It all looked promising for Vettel with the Japanese GP, but reliability issues crept in again, this time with Vettel's car. He did manage to start the race, but by lap two, most of the front runners passed him on the pit straight.

A few laps later he was radio'd by his team to retired the car.

Hamilton thus then stretched his championship lead over Vettel by 59 points after the Japanese GP.

I'm sure there will be further changes at the maranello based headquarters before the American GP in Texas gets underway with first practice on the 20th of October
