Australia F1 GP 2020: Will it or won't it happen???? COVID-19 poses a potential threat.

SUNDAY 08 March 2020

In recent weeks there's been a lot of talk, rumours and press releases with regards to whether the first race of the 2020 season will actually take place.

With the Chinese Grand Prix already being Cancelled for 2020, could there be a risk of any further races being postponed or Cancelled? Only time will tell and of course, what local governments could do, to prevent the spread of this Virus.

In light of this, the Italian Government have recently announced new border restrictions out of certain northern Italian towns, placing San Fiorano, which is amongst approximately ten other towns, on full lock-down.

This will effectively place approximately 16 Million People under quarantine for approximately 2 weeks.

This is all in an effort to prevent the spread of the COVID-19 virus.

This however is very worrying for Formula one fans all over the world, as 4 of the current F1 teams, Ferrari, Alfa Romeo, Haas and AlphaTouri, all have personnel/ representatives/ factory's/ offices based closely to San Fiorano in neighboring Maranello.

So, as we all eagerly await the start of the first race of 2020 in Australia, there seems to be no confirmation or even any news with regards to the cancellation or postponement of this year's Australian Grand Prix in the media.

So far, all seems to be going to plan, but in light of all this, there could be late announcements, so please look for updates on the F1.com website, your local publications and of course right here at f1supportersclub.blogspot.com

If the Australian race does go ahead, which in my mind, it would, everyone should and need to take the necessary precautions as to make sure that there is no unnecessary spread of the virus.

It's really simple and should be done every day anyway.

Take These Necessary  Precautions

1.

Text reads: Wash hands for about 20 seconds with soap and hot water or use a sanitiser gel
2.

Text reads: Use a tissue for coughs and sneezes
3.

Text reads: If you don't have a tissue, use your sleeve
4.

Text reads: Avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth with unwashed hands
5.

Text reads: If you think you might have the virus, these are the symptoms to look out for

What should you do if you are feeling Unwell?

  • Contact your local emergency health service immediately!

  • Avoid Traveling

  • Please refer to your local Health Services contact numbers, as per your local telephone directories.

  • DO NOT Go to a GP, Pharmacy or Hospital. You may be asked to preferably stay at home and self-isolate

  • You may be tested for the Virus at Home, at a Hospital or any other preferred location as stipulated by your local health authority.
